GLWI director and scientist Val Klump and scientist Rebecca Klaper appeared on National Public Radio's Science Friday on May 16 to discuss issues facing the Great Lakes.
The national show, hosted by veteran science journalist Ira Flatow, was broadcast live from the Milwaukee Public Museum in downtown Milwaukee.
Klump and Klaper were part of a guest panel that also included Peter Annin, author of The Great Lakes Water Wars, and Michael Hahn, chief environmental engineer for the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission.
Topics of discussion during the hour-long program included the Great Lakes Compact, invasive species, nonpoint pollution, and pharmaceuticals in our waters. The guests also answered questions from an on-site audience and radio listeners.
The show is archived on the Science Friday website along with supplementary material.
