RESEARCH 

Lake Michigan ecophysiology in coastal areas and the Mid-Lake Reef Complex (MLRC).  Effects of invasive species on the Great Lakes Ecosystem. Geobiology-Biogeochemical cycling of nutrients and metals (manganese and iron) in diverse aquatic environments including hydrothermal vent systems. Ecophysiology of phytoplankton and Cyanobacteria.
